I often refer to myself as the yo yo diet queen. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I have tried every diet, diet pill, and even shots. I’d lose weight and put it back on just as fast. My rock bottom was when the cardiologist handed me a card with the name and phone number of a bariatric surgeon and the words, “Gina, the yo yo has to stop.”
Since beginning the Best Body Countdown, I’m learning to take my weaknesses and turn them into goals, so that I can be more successful. I love the quote “progress, not perfection.” Planning meals and prepping food was the most challenging part, but once I started it, I got used to it and now depend on it. The Best Body Cookbook & Menu Plan is fabulous! Each recipe is delicious and easy to make. My favorite is that the Cookbook has a grocery list for each recipe. Having a support team, exercise partner, and an accountability partner has also helped tremendously.
This lifestyle change works! I’ve done the Fall and Spring Countdowns with the the RESOLVE program in between, and I’ve lost almost 40 pounds and more than 5 inches off my waist. I started with a 27-second plank, and now my plank is more than 3 minutes! I even ran my first 5K last year. I still have big goals to hit. I have proven to myself that I can do it! No meds, no surgeries, no extreme diets…just pure will and believing I can do it! This girl is not finished!
