What is the Best Body Countdown?
The Best Body Countdown is a guided 52-day journey of self-discovery and lifestyle change resulting in inner and outer strength and wellness. In every season of life “Your Best Body” may be defined slightly differently, but it’s always YOURS to define… everyone deserves to reach their personal best – inside and out – regardless of their starting weight or fitness level!
What does the Best Body Countdown include?
Please request your center’s Best Body Countdown Facilitator for details, as there are various program options offered around the US.
All of the programs include the Countdown to Your Best Body Success Journal (your daily guide for 52 days), the Meal Measure and the Best Body Club support:
1) a daily email from the program author
2) Don’t Quit support chats every other week for 30-minutes
3) private Facebook group support
4) a daily text if you choose to opt in for these.
Some programs also come with the Best Body Cookbook & Menu Plan and a premium infuser water bottle, the Resistance 90 workout tool, a Core Flyte and in-person support. Just ask your local facilitator for details!
The essentials of the 52-day Countdown: Self-assessment, accountability, sugar intake reduction with support and recipes, water/beverage choices, balanced meal planning with an emphasis on vegetables and purposeful snacks and de-emphasis on processed food; strategic splurging, and “make-it-count” movement…being Your personal Best!
When will I get the start-up details?
You will get an email the Thursday prior to the Countdown start date with all the details related to getting started with the Best Body Countdown, which begins counting down from Day 52 to Day 1…counting down to Your Best Body! (The Countdown starts the week after Labor Day or the day after MLK Day).
About the Facebook Best Body Club private Group:
- What if I don’t do Facebook?
Joining the FB Best Body Club group is not required. But, even if you don’t plan to continue with FB use after the 52 days, you’ll want to create a FB page just for the support of the fabulous Best Body Club. You can always delete your page afterwards. If you don’t join the Facebook group, that is of course your decision. You can still be successful, but you will have less support and camaraderie along the way. - How do I join the private Best Body Club Facebook group?
You will receive an email the Thursday before the Countdown begins with a link to request to join the private group. - Will anyone be able to see my info on the private Facebook Group?
No posts, nor any photos you post will be visible to anyone except Best Body Club members on the same journey.
What should I wear for the self assessment?
Form-fitting (but not spanks), lightweight, light-colored clothing that reveals the humps and bumps you want gone. Don’t suck in for your “before” picture! You will want to be comfortable, as you’ll be doing a timed plank exercise (instructions on page 31 in the Success Journal) to assess your starting point. You will also be taking 2 measurements. Everyone has to start somewhere! NO judgements, so no stressing!
What if I won’t be able to exercise as often as recommended in the program – should I just not enroll?
For Best-Body results, 5 days per week of exercise is recommended over the 52 days – which is just about 8 weeks. Movement can be in 10-minute bouts if smaller increments are more do-able over the course of the day. If you have an injury for example, that will limit your exercise, make a note in your Success Journal of what you WILL do, putting your modification in writing and committing to it. Committing to what is reasonable for you (if 5 days is not) is better than giving up on the pursuit of Your Best Body. You will learn a lot regardless, and make changes for the better, while working towards getting yourself to a place where you can meet your next exercise goal.
I understand sugar is limited during the Countdown…what if I just don’t think I can cut back? Should I just not enroll in the program? This is the most common fear for future Best Body Countdown participants…You will be amazed as to how well you do, especially if you enroll in January or September and do the program with the support from the Best Body Club and the expert step-by-step advice from the Success Journal author, Sohailla Digsby (Facebook group and email support, as well as “Don’t Quit Chats”). Not to mention the Best Body Cookbook & Menu plan gives you delicious alternatives to help replace your old habits (and recipes) with new ones. Just check out the Success Stories on the website for reassurance: lots of sugar-addicts commenting that they are no-longer enslaved to it!
What if I have a trip planned in the middle of the 52 days?
You must plan ahead for this! Getting out of routine right after setting up new framework for a healthier lifestyle definitely can throw you off course if you are not prepared. Write in your Success Journal any modifications to your daily goals that you will need to make during your trip, and fully commit to the temporary parameters you establish for while you are away from home, even if you’re unable to do as well as you would have done if you were at home. Don’t quit just because you are away – plan to jump right back 100% on board when you return! Have someone check in with you that will hold you accountable. If you wait for the perfect time to start, it may never come!
What if my schedule doesn’t allow me to attend the live Don’t Quit Chats every other week?
They are all recorded so you can listen in anytime for encouragement.
I tend to get overwhelmed: I realize I’m going to get a brief email daily for 52 days, and I’m in the Facebook group, and need to check-off challenges in the Success Journal (paperback). Do I need to read/use each of these?
No, accountability coming from various angles is for reinforcement for lifestyle change, but if just one or two of these are best for you, that works! If you pick just one, let it be the Success Journal so you can track your progress by checking off the check-boxes.
What if I am vegetarian or vegan?
The Countdown focuses on the following important aspects of health, regardless of animal product consumption:
–self-assessment
-accountability
-sugar intake reduction with support and recipes
-water/beverage choices
-balanced meal planning with an emphasis on vegetables
-purposeful snacks and de-emphasis on processed food
-strategic splurging
-and “make-it-count” movement…
–being Your personal Best!
The Countdown teaches dividing the plate so that about 1/4th of the meal is protein, but it can be either meat or plant-based protein. Vegans have to be more intentional in order to get adequate protein in, and often benefit from a shake or protein supplement, and some extra vitamins and minerals they are most likely already aware of (B12, etc.).
Other than that, the guidelines for healthy living are very similar regardless of animal product consumption (balance, sleep, water, movement, meal planning. etc.). Many of the recipes in the cookbook do not contain meat, or it can be easily omitted/substituted (though alternate protein supplementation may be needed). When cheese or yogurt is used in the cookbook, it can be substituted as well. (It’s not a dairy-heavy cookbook.)
I‘ve done the Countdown before — have the prices, tools, or programs changed?
Prices have increased slightly, and of course value has been added as well as the addition of the Resistance 90 workout tool by Stroops (PLUS package).
What is the Resistance 90? Does it include more than the band with the handle? (yes: door anchor and collapsable bar as shown)
The Resistance 90 is a portable resistance training system. You can choose to use the Slastix resistance band with the collapsible bar or by itself.
GOAL: For convenient use at your workplace, home and travel so you don’t lose momentum when traveling or unable to get to the gym: muscle toning and strengthening maximizes your metabolism and vitality. Click for INTRO TO STROOPS VIDEO.
