I began the 52 day Countdown after my wife completed the Countdown with a group at church. I had been adding about 10+ pounds a year and found myself 60 pounds heavier, with little to no energy most of the time. I tried all the different fad diets and workout routines. They would last for a short while, but they were not sustainable past their ‘quick fix’ timelines.
The biggest motivator about the Countdown to Your Best Body for me was that my wife and I could do it together. The recipes from the cookbook/menu plan are nutritious and delicious, and our kids eat with us. My wife, who does most of the cooking, was able to stay motivated because she did not have to cook two separate meals. Being able to enjoy foods together, that everyone liked, made meal time seem special.
I have lost 28 pounds so far. When people ask me if I am going to do the 52-day Countdown again, my only response is “I never stopped, this is a lifestyle that fits my lifestyle.”
